Online, quite simply: the "Book a table" button opens the booking module of the restaurant you choose. You can also go through Lana, who confirms your booking on screen — that confirmation is all you need.

Bookings are for lunch (and brunch, which is the same service at OLLā). No booking for breakfast, coffee or afternoon snacks: just come in!

Ask Lana: she checks and confirms or changes your booking, without even needing your full name. Changes are possible for groups too.

Your table is guaranteed! The exact seating (terrace or dining room) isn't always guaranteed at the last minute, though — we do our best, and we'll contact you if there's a problem.

Yes: state your preference in the booking comment. At BāM, the terrace is shaded and the dining room air-conditioned — the terrace has one large table (up to 6) and tables for 2, so from 7 guests it's the dining room. At OLLā, from April to September, tables are in the covered galleries and on the shaded terrace: shade is guaranteed if you ask for it when booking. OLLā's dining room is heated and opens mostly in autumn and winter.

No, babies don't count towards the number of guests. And we have high chairs in both restaurants. For families, OLLā is especially recommended.

Yes! From 2020 to 2024 the restaurant was called "Bar à Manger" — it's still the company's legal name. BāM is simply its abbreviation, now the everyday name. Regulars who still say "Bar à Manger" are perfectly right. (As for the old events venue "BAM" of the Bâtiment des Affaires Maritimes across the street, it no longer exists — its teams now have lunch with us.)

No: BāM is open Monday to Friday for lunch. At weekends, on public holidays and long weekends, OLLā welcomes you 350 metres away, in the courtyard of the Vieille Charité (lunch from 12 to ±3pm).

Closed on Mondays — except Easter Monday and Whit Monday. On other Mondays, BāM welcomes you 350 m away. OLLā also closes on 1 January, 1 May, 1 and 11 November and 25 December — and stays open on all other public holidays.

Brunch is served at weekends, on public holidays and long weekends, and during French school holidays (all zones), at lunch hours.

OLLā is reached only through the courtyard of the Centre de la Vieille Charité (entrance at 2 rue de la Charité, in the heart of Le Panier). Walk through the porch, and the terrace is under the arcades.

At BāM, yes, gladly — as long as they don't disturb other guests (mention it when booking for the best seating). At OLLā, no: it's the rule of the Centre de la Vieille Charité, which applies to the whole site.

Yes, wifi is free in both restaurants.

Of course! The site can be visited freely, with no booking and no obligation to eat. Take the chance to discover the neighbouring museums (free entry to the permanent collections).

Yes, at OLLā: packages at €80 (up to 10 children), €120 (up to 15) and €160 (up to 20), drinks and birthday cake included.

Yes — everything is cooked on site, from fresh, local, seasonal produce. One proud exception: our artisanal fresh pasta, delivered every week from Genoa. The menu changes weekly, always with a vegetarian option.

The menu changes every week: the easiest is to check the day's menu online, or to ask Lana or the team on site, who know what goes into every dish.

At BāM: yes, from the day's menu — order via Lana (we message you when it's ready; first name and mobile number are enough). At OLLā, takeaway orders are placed directly at the bar.

No, we don't deliver. (If you're a delivery driver for a business order, simply write « livreur » to Lana and you'll be directed to the right person.)

Everything except cheques: cash, bank cards including American Express, French meal vouchers (paper and card), French holiday vouchers (paper and digital). Chorus Pro for public entities, bank transfer on invoice for companies.

Yes! From 11 people we recommend OLLā: a large terrace table up to 40, shaded terrace up to 100, covered galleries 20, and the heated dining room (38) in autumn and winter. From 12 people at BāM and 16 at OLLā, it counts as a group: Lana takes your full request and the team confirms it by hand, very quickly. Children's birthday packages at OLLā.

BāM can be hired in full — including evenings, weekends and public holidays. OLLā: partial hire during the day (shaded terrace up to 100 people; heated 38-seat dining room in autumn and winter); full hire only when the whole Centre de la Vieille Charité is privatised (large-scale events, up to ~1,200 people).

Go through Lana with: entity name, SIREN or SIRET number, postcode, email and phone. Public entities can be invoiced via Chorus Pro — a rarity for an independent restaurant. No quotes for 18 covers or fewer, unless there's a specific reason.

In the evening, BāM opens for groups and private hire (quote via the Professionals page). At OLLā, no regular dinner service: evenings follow the events and festivals of the Vieille Charité — bar and light food from doors opening.
